CWT finalizes acquisition of Navigant International

Carlson Wagonlit Travel marked a new beginning with the acquisition of TQ3Navigant. The transaction, announced in April of this year, is now complete and CWT and Navigant are now officially one company. This acquisition of Navigant doubled the size of CWT in North America and expanded its presence in Asia Pacific through operations in Australia and New Zealand.

In Canada, the transaction included Navigant’s corporate division, Navigant Vacations and the Meetings & Incentive Travel business operations. The combined organization represents an increased presence in the Canadian marketplace in all three lines of CWT’s business – corporate, leisure, and meetings and events. In the leisure area alone, the company has added over 50 new employees and six new locations across the country – Vancouver, Calgary, Regina, Winnipeg, Mississauga, and Ottawa.

Today, CWT is the second-largest travel management company in the world. The company operates under the CWT brand and Navigant will gradually take on the face of CWT.
